~ A response, conversation and unified special interest group to combat COVID-19 in sports ~
SAFE AT PRACTICE | SAFE IN JUNE | SAFE AFTER
Research and build safety protocols with a diverse group for a return to restricted play or practice in June 2020, while simultaneously approaching Congress for disaster relief for our affected industries in the broad category of Event Management and its affected supply chain.
Our message will be built from collaboration with decision-makers and leaders in these categories: parents, spectators, athletes, municipalities, tourism bureaus, national governing bodies, public health experts, government, equipment manufacturers, facility operators, hospitality, travel, food/beverage, event rights holders, academies, clubs, trade associations, school districts, sports officials, press, insurance companies and both college/professional sports.
To create a multi-dimensional policy recommendation group called Sports UAC, which will spearhead the “Safe in June” campaign that provides unified support toward ensuring proper social distancing in large public gatherings (envisioning a return to amateur sports events first), so we may produce events with safe practices in June 2020.
Sports save lives. It’s critical that athletes return safely to sports, where they learn resilience through critical life-saving skills that are taught naturally through sports; specifically, in dealing with feelings of a personal nature: loss, failure, adversity and mistakes.
Businesses, municipalities and sports communities are at risk of financial instability without the ability to safely assemble groups of people. Let us shape policy with the decision makers.
